meaning for the word SAT
Answers
I think I read somewhere that the SAT no longer stands for anything. I think back int he day it stood for Scholastic Aptitude Test and then in 1990 it became Scholastic Assessment Test and then they decided it didn't stand for anything anymore.
There are two kinds of SATs
1. SAT Reasoning Test - the one scored out of 2400 ( used to be known as the SAT I)
2. SAT Subject Tests - these are out of 800 (used to be known as SAT IIs)

Stupid and Tiresome? Haha just kidding. I don't think it stands for anything anymore but it used to a long time ago.
It doesn't stand for anything anymore. It's just an annoying test that you have to take (or you could take the ACT) for college admissions. The main reason you have to take it I guess is that colleges can't compare a 3.4 GPA at one school versus another since some schools have a lot of grade inflation. That's why they need stuff like the ACT and SAT to see how you stack up. Lame but necessary I guess!
