Will colleges care if I do poorly in the science classes I take? Our school's science department is not very well organized, and none of the classes are really worth the effort, so my grades haven't been so great. I feel like showing a deficiency in an area like this will be noticeable to any school I apply to. Has anyone had experience with this?

If science is not your best subject, then try your best to make it not look like a shining weakness on your high school transcript. Get extra help after class from your teacher, look into outside tutoring, try anything you can to get your grade up. Take a lower-level class, if necessary.
Colleges will be happy to see extra strides from a student when they are struggling.

If you apply to college looking to major in science, then you're out of luck. But, if you're not looking to apply to a science-related field, then you should be fine.
I wouldn't do poorly in science and then expect a college to be interested in you coming to their institution to study that particular area of weakness of yours.

Do whatever you can to improve your skills in science. It'll look like a sore spot in an overall great HS resume. So, try your best to improve in that area.
