I am having a hard time trying to figure out what way is best for me. I started reading the novel that prepme sent me, but i feel like i wont be able to remember those words. And if I do read the novel, then i have to go back again and rewrite the definitions to really understand. I have another SAT vocabulary book, and i usually jot the definitions and, if i need to, make flash cards. I'm still confused about how to tackle this. I think I need a better way to approach SAT vocab.

My tutor sent me a few linkls that helped my vocab a lot:

http://freerice.com/
Also, he told me tat prepme has facebook apps that help your vocab too. Just go to your fbook account and browse apps. Search for "vocabulary crosswords" and "words in a box (boggle)" then add the app. Let me know what's your name and we can play each other ;)

With my Prepme course, I got a book called simon's Saga that has helped me a lot. It weaves a story together that incorporates a lot of SAT-level words. I thought it helped a lot.
My parents bought me a bunch of flashcards. It has helped a lot. Study 3-5 new words per week and in a matter of months, you can be up to 100-200 new words.
The key is to study a wide array of words and to memorize definitions using synonyms. For example, if you learn the word "sage", which means wise, you should learn to connote with "perspicacious", "intelligent", "shrewd", "sapient".
This way, you learn 5 words every time you learn 1.

Hey nikita I have been using the vocabulary thing on this site. I think the URL is prepme.com/sat-quiz and I also had this strategy:
I go through all of those words and then mark out the ones I don't know in a notebook. The notebook has one page for each letter of the alphabet so I can organize the words by letter.

In my opinion, I think you should use flashcards. They are very useful. My friends use them and can remember a lot of words. Another way is use a software (I recommend WordHacker).
