what formulas do i have to memorize for the SAT math section? is there a formula sheet given on test day?
Answers
The SAT exam's mathematics portion will provide some basic formulas at the beginning of each section where the general instructions are provided.
I would recommend memorizing the instructions and formulas beforehand to save time. It's easy to memorize the following formulas:
- Area of a circle = pi (r^2)
- Circumference of a circle = 2 pi (r) = pi (d)
- Area of a rectangle = length x width
- Area of a triangle = 1/2 base x height
- Volume of a rectangular box = length x width x height
- Volume of a cylinder = pi (r^2) x height
- Pythagorean formula = a^2 + b^2 = c^2 in a right triangle where c is the hypotenuse and a and b are the other two sides
Also know the 30-60-90 and 45-45-90 right triangle formulas.
