Our daughter's high school was fantastic in helping her overcome her learning disability to do well in school. I'm worried about sending her to college and her not having the same kind of resources available as she does from her high school's counselors. Are there schools that have special departments or faculties for student's with learning disabilities? Are there any other parents reading this that have gone through a similar circumstance? I guess my main question is do you have any advice for parents with learning disabled children looking for colleges?

Honestly all of the schools we've been looking at have some kind of program. We also found this list online last year that helped us a lot: http://www.college-scholarships.com/learning_disabilities.htm. Cheers!
A few years ago our daughter, who had trouble all through high school, enrolled in Northeastern university because they had a very nice learning disability department. We were also considering DePaul at the time for the same reason. We've had a great experience with northwestern because they're very dedicated and personal. You can certainly find a school that wil be very good to your daughter if you look around. There are websites, and you can start at the national center for learning disabilities. If i remember correctly they had a very nice article about getting started with this sort of thing.
