I read the recent NYT article about studying philosophy in college: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/06/education/06philosophy.html?ex=1208145600&en=1c3585fc82773e7f&ei=5070
I'm thinking about it. But, I'm worried about the practicality. Any advice from current students/grads majoring in this field?

I'm thinking about philosophy too. I think most parents shun the topic because it's not going to help with job prospects post-graduation, but I think they're wrong. As the article points out, philosophy classes can help students to develop crucial logical reasoning skills that will be crucial in any walk of life.
