You have to be a senior in high school when you apply. They give 200 people the $4000 ($1000 each year for 4 years of college) scholarship and 50 people the $20000 ($5000 for each year over 4 years of college) scholarship.

My guess is that a ton of people apply for this scholarship so the odds of winning it are really low. I think it's a very prestigious and well known scholarship so a lot of people apply.

I know that you have to be a US citizen or green card holder and you have to have a 3.0 GPA.

You apply online for the first part in the October of your senior year. There are about 100,000 people applying ever year. Out of those, they pick about 2500 semi-finalists who are announced in December. Then 250 people win it. Good luck!!!
