I’m afraid I won’t have enough money to go to school because college sounds so expensive that it seems like I shouldn’t even try. Does anyone have any advice?

You should at least apply to some schools. Many schools wil compensate for your situation with financial aid, sometimes to the point that you barely have to pay anything at all.
A friend of mine is basically going to Dartmouth on a full-ride scholarship (even though it's not a scholarship) because he can't really afford to pay anything toward his education. If you're a good enough student, schools are willing to sacrifice for you to attend.
You shouldn't exclude yourself from attending school until you see what kind of financial aid the schools are willing to give you. Financial aid can greatly change the sticker price for college.

Some schools do this thing where if you can prove financial need they'll waive the application fee for you. This is to encourage you to apply even if you think you won't be able to go because of monetary concerns. You should check with the schools you're interested in to see if they offer the waiver program.
