Did you guys hear about Harvard's acceptance rate this year? 1,948 students were accepted out of 27,462 applicants. That's crazy!

I read about that too. It's shocking, isn't it? I really want to go there, but it sounds like you have to be one-of-a-kind amazing to even be considered, let alone get in. Does anybody know what last year's acceptance rate was?
My History and Economics teacher graduated from Harvard, and frankly he said if he could redo things he would choose Brown over Harvard, bt idk...i guess after being accepted to a college with a 7.1% acceptance rate you feel like you can do anything. Anyways...im still gona apply...i just think...the worst thats gona happen is that im not gona get accepted...
btw i think i read somewhere that the acceptance rate is 9% now....so thats sorta better:)

well it is pretty unlikely t get into Harvard.. so obviously the acceptance rate isn't going to be very high. duhh
yeah i know. theres this senior at my school who got accepted to harvard and her SAT score was only 1900, but i think she had some talents besides academics and thats what i believe got her in.
the reason their lowering acceptances is because of the online applications, which means that so many people can apply. Plus i heard that if you apply online you don't have to write an essay; i'm not sure how true that is

I'm not sure about last year's acceptance rate, but I know that this year's was a record low. So last year's had to be higher -- too bad we missed out. Just curious, do you think this acceptance rate will just continue to rise until Harvard is accepting 1-2%? Or do you think the rate will stabilize at some point?
